July 1st, 1939. Dear Harold; Following your visit to the CLARENCE H. MACKAY collection, at my galleries, I take pleasure in enclosing herein photographs of the items in which you evidenced interest. I am sending these to you in Kansas City in case you should wish to take these matters up with the Trustees, though as I told you I am sailing this week and I don't feel, from what you said, that you would do anything in connection therewith before the Autumn. As I explained to you, I am retained by the attorneys of the Estate and any purchase made from me would have to be paid by check made out to the order of the Estate. I have not added any photographs of the swords or pistols as there is a variety of them and I don't know exactly which ones you would be particularly interested in. The prices of the items of which photographs are enclosed are: 106 - V-5 | Fountain, bronze, French work of the XVIth. Century by JEAN GOUJON - $35,000. 134 - Y-1 | Paschal candlestick. Large, hexagonal, carved wood and painted candlestick, Spanish work of the XVth. Century - $5,000. 101 - C-48 | Circular parade shield of wood, Italian work of the XVIth. Century, attributed to Julio Romano - $5,500. 105 - A-16 | A German suit of armor, 1580, which belonged to t Bernard von Weimar - $55,000. With personal regards, Yours very sincerely, (Germain Seligmann) Harold W. Parsons, Esq., Nelson Gallery of Art, Kansas City, Mo.
