Dug out 3 holes of Dipodomys (that were stopped up), but didnt find one. found a nest in one. Saw a Dipodomys throwing out dirt - first one that I have seen alive & free. Went to town in P.M. & went to traps before dark. Skinned & stuffed 8 mice & c. in evening. " [[ditto for: Oct.]] 13. Caught 3 Mus musculus, 3 Arvicolae, a Hesperomys, & a Dipodomys in morning. After going to traps, skinned things till 4 P.M., then went to mouse traps again. Got 3 Arvicolae & a Sorex. Skinned 3 things in evening which make 13 skins for today.
