1888.

Oct. 24. Went to traps in morning & caught 2 Dipodomys & a Perognathus, the first one that I have seen.

Hunted & set traps till dinner, then skinned things & went to traps again in evening, & set a trap for Coyotes.

Worked on Ogden report till late.

Rained a little & snowed on the mountain peaks till they are white. Cold & windy.

"[[ditto for: Oct.]] 25. Went to traps & hunted in A.M. Caught 2 Ochetodons, 3 Hesperomys, 2 Dipodomys, 3 Thomomys, & shot 2 Tamias. In P.M. skinned these & wrote in evening.

Cold & several flurries of snow. Could get plenty of Tamias if I had a warm day.

"[[ditto for: Oct.]] 26. The mountains are white with snow & is cold. Caught another Perognathus, skinned it & 4 birds, made out report & packed
