^[[checkmark symbol]] O'T/M October 9th, 1933. Dear Miss Roullier, I wish to thank you for your very nice letter of October 7th received this morning, and I was particularly delighted to read the very nice reviews of the pictures we sent out for your exhibition. Regarding the MAX JACOB gouache, I am forwarding it today by express prepaid, because if there is a chance of making a sale, it is better to have the picture on hand than to permit interest to dwindle while we are corresponding back and forth about it. I am assured by a very good friend of the artist that this picture represents a corner of his studio and it contains a great deal of the sentimental feeling that such a sensitive person would hold for the things that are very dear to him. It is a particularly lovely thing, and at the price I consider it very reasonable indeed. I am attaching hereto a memorandum invoice for this work, and in the event of a sale a percentage of 15% would be allowed. I am also enclosing in the same box a package that I would like you to have delivered by your messenger to my friend, Mr. Chadwick, and if there are any expenses in the matter I would be only too glad to reimburse your cashier personally for his outlay. Assuring you of our readiness to cooperate with you in the event that there is any further information you would want about the things you have seen here or the works that are on view in your gallery, Please believe me to be Yours very truly, (James St.L. O'Toole) Miss Alice Roullier, Fine Arts Building, 414 South Michigan Blvd., Chicago, Illinois. Encl
