To say that I find this all discouraging is to put it mildly - and I can see no improvement in the immediate future as we still owe $87,000. on the building which drains about $10,000 a year from our income.  The only consolation in all of this is that we are not alone with our financial problems.  The local college, Marshall, canceled all departmental budgets.  The public[[strikethrough]]e[[/strikethrough]] schools may have to close in the spring, and the poor old library is just gasping along.  I had always thought of the impoverished south as being further south - I had no idea I was moving into it.

Well, all of this is to say that the time is coming rapidly I feel when I shall be casting about for new fields.  The temptation is strong to return
