Dear T.:

I do know of a position that will be vacant in this immediate area after the first of the year. I do not know, however, that it will be available. I submitted my resignation effective January 1, 1960, and it has been accepted. The problems of the future is now in the hands of the executive committee od the Board, and with our very serious financial situation to be considered before a replacement is appointed I just don't know what their plans will be.

In any case, I do not feel that I could recommend the position to an experienced person until there were some major fiscal changes made.

If the Board seeks a full time replacement I'll let you know at once; however, my resignation will not be made public for some time, so please do not mention it until you hear from me.

My plans are to spend the late spring and summer in Europe, so I will probably see you when ^[[going]] there from San Francisco in late March or April.

With best wishes,
^[[Fred]]
