Dear Georges:

[[underline]]DUTCH PAINTINGS[[/UNDERLINE]].

Herein photographs of a certain number of Dutch paintings - the following through the firm of Knoedler -

It is remarkable transparent.

II - Knoedler's No 16221
Pieter de Hoogh
"Interior"
Their asking price .......... $30,000.

III - Through Kleinberger
Albert Cuyp
"Dapple Gray"
From Maurice Kann Collection.
Signed lower left. Very fine condition
Indications on back.
Their asking price .......... $15,000.

IV - I have just seen at Knoedler's a painting by Bartel Bruyn the Younger "Lady of the Vavasour family". Their asking price is $8,500., and I am sending you herein the photo with, on the back, the description. It is an extremely important picture in size and of beautiful quality and condition. They bought it I understand, years ago directly from the owner in England and they tell me it has remained in their London house for three or four years practically without having been shown. Their price seems extremely reasonable, as it is is $8,500, and I suppose we could have it for less.

I am still after another painting which for the time being is still in the hands of Kleinberger and which used to be a Pieter de Hoogh, but which is now in the new book of Valentiner on this artist - given to Van der Burgh. You will find it mentioned in the works by that artist in the Klassiker der Kunst on Pieter de Hoogh - among the pictures which were formerly given to this artist and now are recognised to be by Van der Burgh - I think it is [[strikeover unreadable]]the second or third one in the book mentioned as being in the Blodgett collection. The painting is at present under consideration but if and when it becomes free, I will send you the photograph. The price would also be $15,000. It looks superb from the photograph and Sporling of Kleinberger tells me also it is very fine
