[[underlined]] June 19 [[/underlined]] - Woke up with the sun shining on me & A.K. woke still later. Went out before breakfast & shot a Night Heron - a cinnamon Teal, a Blue Grosbeak, & 2 Quails. After breakfast shot a Sturnella, an Aegilites vocifera, Sayornis saya, a Wilsons Phalrope, 2 Rough-wing Swallows, saw a Trochilis, 4 Ravens, 1 Turkey Buzzard, 4 Zenaidura, 1 Vireo, 1 Chat, 1 Night Hawk.
Made up skins - hunted and set some traps.
Shot 3 Spermophiles & saw a lot more. They are abundant & about half grown - Dr. Fisher saw a Micropus melanoleucus & a Cyanospiza oemena.
A windy evening & bats began flying late, we saw two kinds that seem to me like Vesperugo tresperus & Nyctonomys. I shot one small one but cant find it. Saw a Jack Rabbit. Their tracks are numerous around the alfalfa field. 
A clear, quiet day - some wind in morning & evening. 108 [[degree symbol]] at 2 P.M. not uncomfortably warm if you are not hard at work.

[[underlined]] June 20. [[/underlined]] Caught a Dipodomys deserti, a D. merriami, 3 Neotomas, 2 Ochetodons.
Shot a Cuckoo, saw a Carpodacus, A.K.F. shot 3 Micropus melanoleucus & a Vireo & a Passerina oemena. Made up skins. Warm enough - 106 [[degree symbol]] at 2[[ink blot possibly obscures further digits]] P.M. Started down to Eagle Borax works at sundown & got there at 12:30 -
