Dr. Fisher shot 2 Spermophilus of the grammurus kind and an Atalapha cinerea & caught more Hesperomes. A pleasant day. The aneroids remain at 2750 feet [[underlined]] July 7 [[/underlined]] Cool enough to need a coat in morning & I forgot to take it off all day. Dr. Fisher caught a Coon & a Skunk & a Spermophile & 2 Neotomas & 3 species of Hesperomys. I caught 13 Hesperomes of 2 species, one Arvicola, 2 Sorex. Shot a Badger & a Spermophile & a Rabbit. Shot the Badger on the run with my rifle & cut off both legs on one side. Killed a mess of young Quail about half grown - Set more traps, Catalogued 19 mammals today. Shot a Vesperugo in evening. [[underlined]] July 8 [[/underlined]], Got nothing new - worked late & forgot to write journal. Wrote up my report. [[underlined]] July 9 [[/underlined]], Dr Fisher caught a Urocyan. I caught Ochetodon & a Dipodops. Took up our traps and were going to leave but concluded to try one more night for Lynx and for more Dipodops. A cool day but windy. The wind blows up the valley nearly all the time.
