[[blank page]] [[end page]] [[start page]] [[underlined]] July 18 [[/underlined]], Caught 4 Perognathus and 6 Dipodomys of a very small, slender kind. Dr. Fisher shot a Lepus californicus. Made up skins and set large traps along river for Coon & Cats. Packed all of the small skins that were dry and a box of skulls. A hot day. [[underlined]] July 19 [[/underlined]] Sunday, Dr. Fisher caught 2 Dipodomys & a Perognathus and an Onychomys. None of my large traps had been disturbed. [[underlined]] July 20 [[/underlined]] Neither of us caught anything in our traps. I shot a Scops and a cat that came around our bed in night. Dr. Fisher auxed a dog. Packed up our things, took 2 boxes of skins to post office & a large box to express office - send one box of skulls. Started for Visalia at 10 A.M. - Camped just before sundown about 6 miles N. of Paso Came about 26 miles. Set traps till dark. Dipodomys and Perognathus holes are very numerous till we reach Paso. Dipodomy holes not seen beyond. No Thomomys hills seen except one lot where we camped. Lepus californicus is very numerous all the way. their paths run in all directions We saw them sitting in the shade of

I think it's Paso, for Paso Robles, CA. Wikipedia says that locals call it Paso and it is fairly close to Visalia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paso_Robles,_California -@meg_shuler
