Found a lot flying around the bridge and going into holes between the Joist. Waited till they were all in & then took bags & hooked wires and fished them out, got 44 Vespertillios and 6 Nyctonomys. Did not get half there were. I caught a Thomomys. Started at 8 A.M. Reached Visalia at 1 P.M. and found Palmer and Coville in camp a mile from Visalia, Talked over plans, packed specimens, and labeled our bats. Shot a Nyctonomys and Dr. Fisher shot a Vesperugo fuscus. A hot day, up to 99 [[degree symbol]] at 2 P.M. [[underlined]] July 23. [[/underlined]] Packed specimens and hunted for a horse to buy for packer - very busy - [[underlined]] July 24 [[/underlined]] Packed more specimens, got our supplies and had the horses shod and got things ready to start in morning. Wrote up my last report, a small one for Bakersfield & the valley.
