Went to my traps in evening and got one Geomys. Shot a Vesperugo. Loring shot a Lepus sylvaticus, got 2 Scaloporus.
Found holes of the turtle which burrows & is called a gopher. Set traps for it. There are a few Live oaks here, Quercus cinerea is common. It was common at Waycross. Pinus mitis, teda, & palustris & Taxodium disticum, Sweet gum, Juniperus virginisus, Sabal [[strikethrough]] serrulal [[/strikethrough]] adamsonii, & Yucca filamentosa are common. 
Spanish moss is common along the streams.

[[underlined]] April 19 [[/underlined]] Went out to traps early in morning got 2 Geomys & 3 Sigmodons. None of my traps in the woods were sprung and Loring got nothing in his traps which were all in the woods. Skinned the mammals and were ready to start on the 10 oclock train but it left while we were waiting for the ticket agent to appear so we could get tickets & have our baggage checked. Had to wait till the next train at 5 P.M.
Could not do much work so loaded some aux. cartridges and hunted part of the day.
It did not get dark till we reached Chipley.
Saw Geomys hills along the R.R. until dark
Saw no more live oaks or Spanish Moss after leaving the Chattahoochee R. The country is mostly
