[[underlined]] Bay St. Louis [[/underlined]], Miss. 
[[underlined]] April 26 [[/underlined]]
Neither of us caught anything in our traps, except a water moccasin, Took them up. Got a boat and crossed the bay to the north side to the Whitfield Place. where we found some high ground and a prospect of getting mammals. 
Saw two Rabbits & caught an Opossum. Set a lot of traps, engaged board with Mr. Hyatt and he agreed to come over for us in the morning with his boat. Worked till late getting the few specimens prepared and ready to pack up. 
A clear, pleasant day.

[[underlined]] April 27 [[/underlined]] Crossed the bay to Mr. Hyatt's place on north shore. Took all the forenoon to get across & settled.
I got a Neotoma in a trap & Coleman got a Sitomys. Killed some birds. shot bats in evening but did not find them when killed. Cloudy, windy & warm.

[[underlined]] April 28 [[/underlined]] Neither of us caught anything in traps. Coleman got a Gray Squirrel & I found a Coon asleep up a pine tree and killed it & shot a bat in evening. Went farther up the bay and found some signs of Neotomas. 
Cool & cloudy most of day.
