[[underlined]] Woodward Oklahoma [[/underlined]]

Artemisia filifolio was abundant all along except on clay soil. Amorphia was common part of the way.
Other characteristic plants noticed were - Oxitropis lamberti, Baptesia, Psoralea tenuiflora, Argemone platiceris, Solanum rostratum, Asclepias verticillata, Ipomoea leptophylla, Euphorbia (of 3 species), Erigeron (collected), Solidago, Coreopsis tinctoria, Opuntia engelmani, Rhus aromatica, Grape, Cephalanthus occidentalis, (Populus novalifera, Willow along streams) 
The grasses are the most characteristic plants and in places nearly the only ones.

At Woodward the country is the same, rolling, sandy prairie and sand ridges near the river. A few scattering cottonwoods along the river. Set traps, killed a Lepus texianus & caught a Geomys. Finished up the skins not made up before starting. Rained some, cold all day so I wore a coat hunting.

[[underlined]] Aug. 30 [[/underlined]] Caught 3 Perodepus & 3 Geomys & an Onychomys. Found the skull of a Spermophile, but saw none though they seem to be common. Killed a Geomys with bisulphids & tried it on another without
