Mr. Germain Seligman
3 East 51 Street
New York

Dear Mr. Seligman:

I have just returned from my vacation and found your very nice message about wanting me to lunch with you one day which I shall be delighted to do but feel that you must come to lunch with me instead. I will call you the beginning of the week to arrange a day.

I feel absolutely distressed to think that we were unable to sell any of your charming drawings but I did my best in every way as to publicity and salesmanship, etc., though several times we had thought we had worked people up to the point of buying something but in the end were unable to consummate the sale.

All this is very embarrassing to me for you were put to considerable expense over it all and I did so wish to succeed in this particular instance. However, times are difficult and people just seem to go without things that are absolutely not essential to their needs at the present moment. I only hope things will soon change and that money will be flowing a little more freely and that we will really be able to do something worth while together before very long.

I am looking forward with great pleasure to seeing you very soon. My plans will be a little more definite after my son returns to school.

Very sincerely yours,
