Dear Mr. Seligman,

This is just a line to say that I have now given your Cambiaso drawing to Drescher, but felt uncertain what the answer should be when he asked me whether you wanted "a perfect job" or a "less expensive" one. By the former,he means what I should call a deceptively cunning restoration - in this case, I suppose that the result of such an operation would be practically perfect since the tears in the paper hardly touch the drawing itself - on the other hand, what he calls a "less expensive job" would probably be very adequate. Much depends on your valuation of the drawing. I suppose that, in this country, a good Cambiaso (as yours undoubtedly is) is valued less highly than in the United States, and, for purely commercial reasons, I myself should probably choose the latter alternative. But I thought that, in this case, the simplest plan would really be to get Drescher to write direct to you and give estimates for each alternative, and I hope that he will do this promptly - if he has not done it already.

Please do not bother to acknowledge this unless I can give you any further help.

With kindest regards,

Yours very sincerely,
