Dear Mr. Byam Shaw,

For several years now I have been working on a book relating to the activities of my firm since its inception by my father in 1880. Should it ever be published it will contain quite a number of photographs and among them I would like to reproduce our Raphael drawing.

However I do not wish to do this without having your approval - it would obviously carry the indication that it was purchased in partnership with your firm. Should you raise no objection would you let me know whether the caption Private Collection, England or London, would be agreeable?

Mentioning this drawing reminds me of a letter I received a little while ago from Mr. Baderou telling me how particularly happy he was about the two prints you were kind enough to forward to him.

Hoping you are well and with personal regards,

Sincerely,
