New York, N.Y. 10022 April 20, 1977 Dear Mr. Shaw, Among this morning's mail at least one good letter, and a particularly pleasing one - yours - which breaks the news of your being out of the hospital even though quite frail, I gather. It is good of you indeed to have taken the trouble of answering me when you are just out of bed and convalescing. I shall follow your good advice and get in touch with Christopher White, and do dismiss from your mind all the questions I burdened you with. As news which I might impart, though you are probably already posted, is that Christie's, in the middle of May will launch its first attack. I am afraid that it will be quite an uphill fight for Sotheby's is truly drowning the world with publicity. With my thanks go my sincerest wishes for a speedy and complete recovery, and with warm regards, Yours, Germain Seligman James Byam Shaw, Esquire 4 Abingdon Villas London W8 6EX England ^[[GS]]
