You may therefore imagine how interested and pleased I was to find your letter here on our return last week.

I have finished my catalogue of the drawings at Christ Church, Oxford, which is now in the press, and have begun a new task - the catalogue of the Italian drawings at the Institut NĂ©erlandais in Paris. We were there [[strikethrough]]per[[/strikethrough]] for a fortnight, staying in part of Lugt's old appartment in the Place du Palais Bourbon, which was very pleasant. I must return there later in the year.

I think with pleasure of my visit ^[[with Felice]] to your charming appartment in New York, when I was there for the first time in 1963.  Poor Felice, I am afraid, is in the doctor's hands, awaiting an operation - and I am afraid this will greatly concern your wife, who I know is such a great friend of hers.
