New York 22, New York

October 21, 1965

Dear Mr. White:

It was pleasant indeed to receive your letter of October 4 with the good news that, at last, you were going to obtain our painting by Petrus CHRISTUS from Dr. Hell.

The documentation I had brought together on this panel has been mailed - as per your request - a week ago, by ship, first class and registered. Thus, it should reach you at the same time as these lines. For your information, I am appending a list of these different documents some of which, I feel certain, you will find of interest.

May I also call you attention to my Firm's study on the painting. This was carried out at the time when I expected to have it here in New York which, as you know, was not made possible on account of the physical condition of the panel. It is a summary, the result of considerable research, as you will gather, and though I know that you are a specialist in this particular field you may find in it details and comments of value.

Will you be good enough to keep me posted about the further developments of your undertaking in this connection and asking you to convey my regards to Mr. Byam Shaw,

With best wishes,

Sincerely,

Germain Seligman
