AGNEW. 43, OLD BOND STREET AND 3, ALBEMARLE STREET LONDON, W.I. [[/preprinted]] 20th June, 1939. My dear Germain Seligmann, Many thanks for your letter. The restoration of the Roger van der Weyden is almost complete. I expect that it will be so during the next few days. I will then have the portrait photographed and send you a copy immediately. It has been very well done. I find it extremely difficult to suggest a price which we might be able to get for the owner. You will remember that in the sale it failed to reach 500 Gns. Do you suppose he would be satisfied if we could get him somewhere about £1,500 (fifteen hundred pounds). Perhaps he might be satisfied with rather less. One cannot get away from the fact that the picture is described by Friedlander in his book as being in a very bad state. Are you coming over to Europe this summer. With best regards, Yours sincerely, [[signature]] Colin Agnew [[/signature]] Mr. Germain Seligmann, 3, East 51st Street, NEW YORK, U.S.A.
