April 21st,1925.

Messrs. Jacques Seligmann, Inc.,
705 Fifth Avenue,
New York, N.Y.

Gentlemen:

We were very sorry to learn that your Paris office cabled and instructed you not to ship via the White Star Line S.S. "Olympic" and to discontinue the use of their lines, on account of one case of tapestries, that were shipped via the S.S. "Homeric" sailing April 4th, [[strikethrough]]and[[/strikethrough]] had not arrived up to the date of cabling from Paris.

We have investigated this matter with the White Star Line, and their subsidiary companies, and they informed us that the S.S. "Homeric" is the slowest one of their boats, plying between New York, Southampton, and Cherbourg, France, but that it takes this particular boat 7½ to 8 days to make Southampton, after making the necessary stops for discharging of passengers at Cherbourg and Plymouth.

They informed us that this case was due to arrive in Paris Friday, April 17th, and we therefore would appreciate your obtaining for us information from your Paris office, as to whether this case arrived as scheduled, on April 17th.

The White Star Line now informs us that during the summer months, they will safely guaranty that shipments made on the following steamers will take the schedule as submitted below.

S.S. "Homeric" New York to Paris, via Southampton --- 13 days
S.S. "Olympic" New York to Paris, via Southampton --- 11½ to 12 days
S.S. "Majestic" New York to Paris, via Southampton --- 11 days

Of course, this schedule will only be maintained from April, until the last of September, then the winter schedule will go into effect, and then two steamers will be withdrawn from this service, leaving only one to ply between New York and Southampton.

In regard to making shipments via Antwerp on first class fast freight passenger steamers, the Red Star Line will guaranty to render a service from New York via Antwerp to Paris, in about 16 to 17 days, or in other words, 2½ weeks, taking the time from the departure of the vessel from New York to the arrival of the goods at Paris.
