Gentlemen:

Due to the increasing number of reciprocal tariff treaties, it becomes more and more difficult for us to classify invoices correctly for duty purposes.

Therefore, in order to avoid the payment of too high rates of duty, wherever you are certain that your merchandise comes under one of the new trade treaties, please make a note of this on the invoice or in your covering letters. Where you are uncertain as to the proper rate, we suggest that you discuss with us the applicable rate of duty before we put the entry in the Custom House. By entering the goods properly in the first place you will make certain that you will receive benefit of the lower rates of duty without waiting for liquidation.

Very truly yours,

HIRSHBACH & SMITH INC.
