The number of birds mounted during January is 55, including 10 which were mounted in December, but overlooked in the enumeration for that month.

Dr. [[double underlined]]L. Stejneger[[/double underlined]] has been busily engaged in the prosecution of important critical investigations, connected with the determination of Old World specimens in the collection, and in other work assigned him. Mr. [[double underlined]]C. W. Beckham[[/double underlined]] has rendered efficient aid in cataloguing specimens, invoicing, cataloguing types, labeling, and in many ways assisting the curator.
