[[underlined]] Tokio Educational Museum [[/[underlined]], Tokio, Japan - 14 specimens, 11 species, from the Island of Idzu, Japan. Though small in number, the present collection is extremely interesting as coming from a group of islands hitherto unexplored. Mr. Namiye, of the Tokio Educational Museum, visited the "Island of Idzu" in the early part of the present year. The most interesting specimens are three Crow Pigeons ([[underlined]]Janthoenas ianthina[[/underlined]]) and a pair of an undescribed and very distinct new species of thrush, which Mr. L. Stejneger has named [[underlined]] Turdus celaenops [[/underlined]]. A detailed report upon the collections has already been made by him and transmitted to the Editor of the Proceedings of the U.S. National Museum, for publication.

Transcription Notes:
Tokio was a former version of Tokyo. Idzu is probably Izu. Orvidus celaenops is probably now know as Turdus Celaenops.
