[[left margin]] Port Clarence [[/margin]] At Port Clarence, a station consisting of one frame house, with towers and two houses of poles and lumber was erected   Here we left the party of thirty nine men with nearly a years supply of provisions   3100 Telegraph poles and 125 miles of wire with materials in proportion.

The reports from various parties, of which copies are herewith furnished, are very complete and [[left margin]] Work Completed [[/margin]] encouraging   The work thus far completed, includes thorough and accurate explorations and location of routes through the entire length of the line proposed, with the exception of a short distance between Fort Yukon on the river of that name and the head waters of the [[Steekin?]] River in British Columbia. Stations have been erected at important points also buildings to shelter working parties on the lines. Men and material are distributed and
