stationed in Nicaragua who for two thirds of the their time have nothing to do and could collect heavily if they
would. - These are now here to stay till June 1st Capt B.C. [[?]] west (of U.S. Coast Survey Dpt.) and a party of engineers & one of them (Strauss) Ulke knows - it might be worth while to try them a little - they seem all good fellows, They are here to survey the river. Cent Amer Transport Co. San Juan del Norte Nicaragua - thanking him for his kindness to myself and party.  He
gives me the use of the lower floor of his residence for my party and has been extremely obliging - I wanted
you to write him as a means of getting into proper communication with him as the head man here. - He seems
a very good chap. - about 35 or 40 years old and a hard worker I should think - He has been too busy for me to talk at all with him but he will go across with us and I
