[[underlined]]Antelope[[/underlined]]

[[underlined]]June 21[[/underlined]]
Caught 2 weasels - 2 Thomomys - a Peromiscus, 4 Chilotus & a S. mollis, besides the lot caught by Preble. Skinned my mammals & in P.M. drove down to Antelope. Allen had not arrived, got no mail, but got some supplies & saw the city.

The divide is 200 feet higher than our camp & Antelope is 1100 feet below the divide. It is in Sonoran Zone but in a clay & gumbo valley where mammals seem to be scarce. Saw one S. mollis near town, no other mammals. The town consists of some 2 dozen houses. one good store & some others. 4 hotels, several saloons & a church & P.O. It is in a little farming valley. In a treeless region.
