[[underlined]]Equipment and Supplies[[/underlined]]:

The airplane, spare parts, and other aeronautical equipment, as well as the photographic and miscellaneous equipment was purchased through the Purchasing Department of the American Smelting and Refining Company, New York.

[[underlined]]Aeronautical Equipment[[/underlined]] consisted of one Bellanca "Skyrocket" airplane, including a Pratt and Whitney "Wasp" SC-1 engine of 450 horse-power. This plane, although not a new one, was completely overhauled by the Bellanca factory just prior to purchase by the Syndicate. The engine was overhauled and modernized in the Pratt & Whitney factory at the same time. During overhaul, the airplant was altered to adapt it to vertical and oblique aerial photography and to fit it more adequately for visual observation. The plane had six seats, two pilot's seats and four passenger's seats. The latter four were removable, thus clearing the entire fuselage floor for stowing freight.
