In order to carry out the instructions of the President regarding the vacation and sale of the government building, I have accepted a bid for the purchase of the building, to be delivered March 1, 1877.

I have therefore to request that you will be pleased to cause all the articles and materials belonging to your department to be removed at as early a period as possible before that date.
