3^d the negroes that their stories about the negroes being put into slavery again, are not true. They try to frighten the blacks, saying that even now in Richmond they are brought back to slavery. By these & other stories, these rebels try to frighten the negroes & make them submissive. Hence they are igdignant at any one who tells them the truth. They accuse him of keeping negroes in his house, & feeding them. Wiley Bryant is the man who has reported against him. Others too, are treated in like manner— Indeed all union men are so treated.
