Col C. A. Cilley

Colonel.
I have the honor in reply to your note of June 29th (in reference to "Lyons Pasture Plantation") to inform you, that the expenses will be cut down, as soon as the buildings, intended for Barracks for Sick & indigent Freedmen, shall be completed— This would have been done before this but for the fact, that requisitions forwarded about the middle of last month for Nails— has not up to this time, been heard from. If the Assistant Commissioner desires it— I will discharge all the hands employed as Carpenters— at once.

I am Colonel
Very Respectfully
Your Obedient Servant
