[[/underlined]] - Left Washington at 4:15 P.M. B & O for Jefferson Texas. Via St. Louis & Texarkana. [[underlined]] June 7. [[/underlined]] Reached St. Louis at 4:45 P.M. & left at 8:20. [[underlined]] June 8.[[/underlined]] Daylight at Little Rock, Arkansas. reached Texarkana about noon & Jefferson at 2:10, Sunday. Tramped many miles over the country but found little sign of mammals. Made lists of birds & plants. [[underlined]] June 9 [[/underlined]], Met Hollister at 10 AM train & [[strikethrough]] after noon [[/strikethrough]] got a horse & drove 6 miles down the creek to the farm of Richard Crane & arranged to come down & camp in his cabins. Returned to late to move camp tonight. [[underlined]] June 10 [[/underlined]] - Engaged a team to take us down to Cranes early, but two funerals took all of the teams & people of the town until after noon so we could not get off till 1 P.M. Reached Cranes about 3 & located in cabin near the Creek in edge of corn field. Set traps.
