[[underline]] out to Wades Ranch [[/underline]]

Opuntia engelmanis? (the small one), Cereus pancispius, Yucca stricta? Y. rupieda.

At Wades ranch there is lots of Pinus Cembroides? among the juniper. It is on the edge of the breakdown & very rough & rocky, brushy with scrub oaks & lots of juniper. To the south the country becomes still rougher toward the [[mesas?]]

Rock Springs is in almost pure Upper Sonoran zone - the trace of Lower Sonoran is mainly on hot slopes, rocky exposures, or protected basins.

Mr. Wade tells me that in winter very little snow falls & usually there is little freezing weather. He comes from Amarillo where he says it is much colder, snow [[strikethrough]]ing [[/strikethrough]] lying on the ground for part of the winter.
