[[underlined]] Aug. 10 [[/underlined]] - Packed up & started for Cache but the train was late so we did not get away from there till 4 P.M. Reached Snyder at 6 & had to stay over night.

Lots of cotton all along, also corn & caffer corn & milo maize and grain stacks & stubble. Some fields of grain spoiled in the shock. Hard rains have washed the roads & the railroad is so rough and uneven the train nearly jumps the track.

Snyder was blown to bits by a cyclone 2 years ago & 114 people killed but has built up again to a village of 1500. There are several cotton gins & a compress is being built.

Transcription Notes:
caffer = kaffer
