Dear Germain Seligmann:
I am glad to see you are having a show for Carl Pickhardt; not only because he is an excellent artist and a most agreeable person, but also because it shows that you are not too much on the outs with our friends in Cambridge to have a show for one of the family. I have been thinking about what you wrote me about pride; you may be sure my pride is not what it was many years ago and I am sure myself that pride is almost as bad as an ungoverned tongue, and I still have some of both. But I won't ask for favors. Yours every sincerely,
