Mr. Albert Elsen
38 rue de Lille
Paris 7, France

Dear Mr. Elsen:

Your letter of June 22nd has not been answered earlier as I was out of town and only returned a couple of days ago.

I was much interested to read of Professor Meyer Shapiro's suggestion regarding your doctoral dissertation and of the documentary art films you are preparing. May I say that I shall be very pleased to authorize you to use the Seurat painting of the Eiffel Tower, which belongs to the private collection of my wife and myself, and shall be glad to supply you with a photograph about 6 x 8 inches.

You will understand that I will have to write to my office in New York for this purpose, not having a reproduction along with me. I shall do this anon, requesting my secretary to forward the photograph directly to you in Paris.

Mrs. Seligman and I are leaving Paris on Wednesday, June 28th, but expect to be back here by the end of August prior to our flying or perhaps sailing back to the states and if by that time we could see you and hear a little more about your planned films, we would be indeed pleased to hear from you.

Meanwhile with best wishes for the success of your project,

Yours very truly,

Germain Seligman
