Dear Sir,
Will you be kind enough to consider the case I shall submit to you, and let me know what I have a right to do in the premises. The second day of last April a man brought his daughter and placed her with me as a servant. I told him I must keep her a few weeks to see if I liked her before I would make any definite bargain with him. After "a few weeks" he came for my decision. I liked the child and agreed to keep her for one year for her food and clothes. He said he would leave her with me for a few months. I told him distinctly
