Bvt Lt Col Jacob F Chur,
Act Asst Adj't Gen'l,
Raleigh, N.C.

Colonel,
I have the honor most respectfully to request that the sum of three-hundred dollars should be appropriated out of the "Bureau School Fund," to assist the Freedmen of Wentworth the County seat of Rockingham County N.C. to build a "School house" for the purpose of educating their children therein. I was able to obtain land from a citizen (Mr Hancock) on which they will be able to build - the deed has already been furnished to the people - there are at least one hundred (100) children, who would visit the school, - the people are able to hire a Teacher, and are very anxious to have the school.

I am Colonel
Very Respectfully
Your Obdt Serv't
