Colonel, I have the honor to state that in the case of Matt Puryear & others (F) vs Taylor and Hughes in regard to which instructions were given are from office of Asst Com^r on the 6' inst - all the money, principal & interest due the Plaintiffs, was paid over to me by the Sheriff on the 16" inst (amt $378.73).

The Sheriff informs me that the parties Robt Elliot, Geo W. Watkins, James Elliot, & Levi Blair: kinship, charged with concealing tobacco, etc. have promised to give it up, and to bring it to Oxford when
