I have the honor to acknowledge receipt of yours of the 11th Instant informing me that my position as agent had been vacated, to take affect from the 9th. inst - in consequence of my non compliance with the provisions of 1st. Section of Act of Congress, approved 13th. March 1855. And that if I desired to continue, I could make applications to the Head quarters of Assistant Commissioner, and the application would be forwarded to the Bureau at Washington, with the [[strikethrough]] the [[/strikethrough]] oath in its modified form, & his decision obtained thereon. If it is the pleasure of the authorities to continue me as agent. I would accept
