[[overwritten]] 4 [[/overwritten]] [[/underlined]] Left Kettner about 10 AM on log train and came down to Thoreau then got a 3:30 train to Albuquerque & got in after dark. [[underlined]] Nov. 4 & 5. [[overwritten]] 5 & 6 [[/overwritten]][[/underlined]] Remained at Albuquerque writing reports and answering letters. Took midnight train for Engle to visit Reclamation works on Engle reservoir. [[underlined]] Nov. 6 [[overwritten]] 7 [[/overwritten]] [[/underlined]] Reached Engle before daylight & drove over to Reclamation Camp on Rio Grande - 12 miles west & staid to dinner and looked over country and got notes on birds & mammals & plants, but there are no ditches & the dam has not been begun. Mr. French who is engineer in charge has a good camp well organized & has built good roads & is going to build a railroad It is warm & sheltered and a most delightful winter resort in the canyon. The whole situation is peculiarly fitted for a dam & reservoir.
