observing station of the Institution, located near the city of Calama, Chile, was removed to a much more favorable site on a mountain called "Montezuma" about ten miles further south, which is between 9000 and 10000 feet above sea-level.

[[underlined]] National Zoological Park [[/underlined]].

[[underlined]] Recent Accessions [[/underlined]]. Several valuable collections of animals have reached the park in recent weeks. A young male orang-utan about three years old, was presented by Mr. Isaac Ellison, of Singapore, Straits Settlements, together with other animals from that region.

Mr. Victor J. Evans, of Washington, D. C., who has frequently shown his great interest by obtaining for the park rare animals otherwise beyond the limits of park funds, has recently presented a fine young male Kadiak bear, and a pair of the beautiful Count Raggi's Birds of Paradise.

[[underlined]]Attendance[[/underlined]]. The attendance at the Park continues to increase. Although the fiscal year ending June 30, 1920, exceeded all records in the number of visitors, - over 2 1/4 millions - the figures for the first four months of the current year exceed those for corresponding months of 1919 by over 67,000. The record for the first third of the current fiscal year is as follows:

[[underlined]] Expeditions [[/underlined]].

[[underlined]] Smithsonian African Expedition [[/underlined]]. Thus far only about 100 birds and 100 mammals have arrived, but notice of three additional shipments has been received. The collection contains three chimpanzees besides a large number of species from South Africa, a region hitherto poorly represented in our Museum.

[[underlined]] Australian Expedition [[/underlined]]. Dr. William L. Abbott continues to aid the Institution in acquiring natural history and anthropological specimens. Since
