MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF DECEMBER 13, 1923; FEBRUARY 14, and JUNE 3, 1924.

The Secretary stated that these minutes had been transmitted to the members of the Board. In the absence of objection, they were declared approved by the Chancellor. 

RESOLUTION RELATIVE TO INCOME AND EXPENDITURE.

Judge Gray, Chairman of the Executive Committee, offered the following resolution, which was adopted:

RESOLVED; That the income of the Institution for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1926, be appropriated for the service of the Institution, to be expended by the Secretary with the advice of the Executive Committee, with full discretion on the part of the Secretary as to items.

NATIONAL MUSEUM OF ENGINEERING AND INDUSTRY.

The Secretary brought before the Board the project of a National Museum of Engineering and Industry, as outlined in the following resolutions transmitted by Mr. Frederick A. Waldron, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the organization. Sketch plans were exhibited showing the site in the Smithsonian grounds for this proposed Museum building:

WHEREAS; The National Museum of Engineering and Industry has been requested by Dr. Walcott, Secretary of the Smithsonian Institution, to forward a formal request to its Board of Regents for the reservation of sufficient land on which to erect a building for the National Museum of Engineering and Industry; Be it

"RESOLVED; That the trustees, officers, and Board of Direction of the National Museum of Engineering and Industry respectfully petition the Board of Regents of the Smithsonian Institution to set aside for the erection of a museum building, the plot of land in the south and rear of the present Smithsonian Institution Building extending to B Street (south) and from the Freer Art Gallery (east) to the present National Museum.

"AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED; That the Board of Regents of the Smithsonian Institution be requested to obtain from Congress the permission to demolish the present National Museum building [[^at]] such time as in the judgment of the Board of Regents it would be advisable to provide room for the construction or the extension of the National Museum of Engineering and Industry, with the understanding that the cost of removal, should there be any, shall be paid from the funds of the National Museum of Engineering and Industry, and should any proceeds be received therefrom they shall be deposited to the credit of the National Museum of Engineering and Industry as part of its construction fund, and further consent to the erection or
