[[/preprinted left margin]] MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE BOARD OF REGENTS OF THE SMITHSONIAN INSTITUTION HELD MARCH 14, 1927. [[line]] HOUR OF MEETING. The Board met at 10.00 o'clock A.M. at the Institution. PRESENT. The Hon. William Howard Taft, Chief Justice of the United States, Chancellor; Senator Reed Smoot; Senator Joseph T. Robinson; Representative H. Walton Moore; Representative Walter H. Newton; Mr. Frederic A. Delano; Mr. Irwin B. Laughlin; Mr. Dwight W. Morrow; and Dr. Charles G. Abbot, Acting Secretary. Dr. Alexander Wetmore, Assistant Secretary, was present by invitation. NON-ATTENDANCE. The Acting Secretary announced that illness prevented the attendance of Mr. Henry White and Mr. Robert S. Brookings; that Vice President Charles G. Dawes, Senator Woodbridge N. Ferris and Representative Albert Johnson were out of the city; and that Mr. Charles F. Choate, Jr., was detained in Boston by important business. MINUTES OF MEETING ON FEBRUARY 10, 1927.
