3. Desirable Increase of Annual Congressional Appropriations
Estimates of increases above current appropriations necessary for proper administration for the next five years.

A. National Museum
Furniture and Fixtures - Salaries:
1 Additional carpenter and cabinet maker CU 7 (average salary)....$1,860
1 Additional under mechanic CU 5 (average salary.).... 1,500
The present shop force at 7 men is not large enough to keep abreast of current work in making cases for exhibition and storage and other necessary work.
Increase in salaries through reallocations (six men).... 1,500
These reallocations are now pending before the Personnel Classifications Board. [[Total line]] $4,860

For additional supplies, material and equipment.... 10,000
For lumber and other materials for cases, for the purchase of boxes, trays, jars, vials, insect drawers, and similar containers to safeguard specimens, office furniture and similar matters, urgently required.[[Total line]] 10,000

Heating and Lighting - Salaries:
Increase through reallocations....5,460
Part of these reallocations are now pending the Personnel Classification Board. The others should be considered to bring the employees concerned to the average level for others in other departments.
