Dear Germain- Thousand thanks for your last letter and copies. The Metropolitan affair looks encouraging for the fall. A letter also from Miss Nichols to this account. Received the forms to sign from Mr.Jayne.
       
Am inquiring of Hill's whereabouts. As soon as I know will write to you. I don't know who the old lady was. Unless ^[[it's]] his mother - but then, you have met her. I did a head of his sister's child in pewter. It  might have been Mrs. Gaven- his aunt, Long Island. Look up in the register.
