Dear Mr. Seligmann,

I am just back, after a very pleasant trip. My lecture was (if [[underline]] I [[/underline]] may say so) extremely well received.

But the enclosed letters will show you, better than any words of mine, that the game I was shooting at was just "dead pigeons."

The only thing to add is that Mr. Harrison's Toulouse-Lautrecs have already gone to the Art Institute (I went to his house, and saw the other things; they would not interest you). Also, I spoke to the Vice President of the Trust Company, the one formerly in charge of the estate. He said he thought that a number of the pictures had already gone to New Jersey,
