5.30 AM - Springer sent word - start water pumps to pits + keep drilling without circulation, but keep pump pressure up.

5.45 - 6.45. Pump supplying water to slush pits broken down. Back in operation 6.45 AM.

7.05 - Filling slush pits with water 
No new mud. Cleaning up.

Delayed by failure of gas engine that starts big diesels. Start back to bottom at 9:20 AM; some caving - back on bottom (1272') at 10AM. Moved cement pump to shore to increase volume water.
- and no (ugh!) circulation!
- 10:10 - drilling hard at 1285' (5' beyond Engebi)
- shut down ^[[1290±]] to complete pump installation, etc.

All of corals and mollusks are preserved as molds; some of denser sections of core contain [[strikethrough]] contain [[/strikethrough]] what appear to be larger forams but most are recrystallized and identifications may not be possible.
