LESSON V.
Subject: "Manasseh's Sin and Repentance." (2 Chronicles 33: 1-20.)

Motto Text: "Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; and let him return unto Jehovah, and he will have mercy upon him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon." (Isa. 55:7.)

Lesson Outline: (1) Manasseh'h [sic] Sin (2) Manasseh's Punishment. (3) Manasseh's Restoration.

Facts: Manasseh was twelve years old when he began to reign, and he reigned fifty-five years, but he was not a good king; he did evil in the sight of the Lord.

Lesson VI.

Subject: "Josiah's God Reign."

Motto Text: "Remember also thy Creator in the days of thy youth." (Eccl. 12:1)

Lesson Outline: (1) Josiah's Devotion. (2) Idolatry Destroyed. (3) The Temple Repaired.

Facts: Johiah was eight years old when he began to reign and did right in the sight of God.

Lesson VII.

Subject: "The Book Of The Law Found." (2 Chronicles 34:14-33).

Motto Text: "I will not forget thy word." (Ps. 119:16.)

Lesson Outline: (1) The Book of the Law Found. (2) Having the Book Read to the Assembly. (3) Renewing the Covenant.

Facts: When the people were repairing the temple Hilkiah found the book of the law of the Lord. He told Shaphan and Shaphan told the king, and read the book before him.

Lesson VIII.

Subject: "Jeremiah Foretells the Captivity of Judah." (Jeremiah 9:1-16).

Motto Text: Jehovah is with you, while you are with him; and if ye seek him, he will be found of you; but if ye forsake him, he will forsake you." (2 Chron. 15:2).

Lesson Outline: (1) Sin and Its Punishment. (2) A National Calamity. (3) Disobedience and Suffering.

Facts: This prophecy was uttered by Jeremiah. He is often called the weeping prophet.

Lesson IX.

Subject: "The Captivity of Judah." (2 Kings 25:1-21).

Motto Text: "As I live, saith the Lord Jehovah, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked." Ezek 33:11.)

Lesson Outline: (1) Jerusalem Beseiged. (2) Zedekiah Taken Captive And His Sons Slain. (3) Jerusalem Burned and Israel Tken Captive.

Facts: When Zedekiah had reigned nine years in Judah, the king of Babylon came up to besiege Jerusalem.

Lesson X.

Subject: "Jehovah The Shepherd of Israel." (Ezekiel 34.)

Motto Text: "Jehovah is my shepherd, I shall not want." (Psa. 23:1.)

Lesson Outline: (1) A Gracious Promise. (2) The Promise of the Messiah.

Facts: The prophet of this lesson is the man who was once a priest named Ezekiel.

Lesson XI.

Subject: "The Benefits of Total Abstinence (Temperance Lesson)."

Motto Text: "Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the king's dainties, nor with the wine which he drank." (Daniel 1:8.)

Lesson Outline: (1) A Peculiar Temptation. (2) The Test. (3) Honored of God and Admired of Men.

Facts: Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself by eating the king's meat.

Lesson XII.

Subject: "The Fiery Furnace." (Daniel 3).

Motto Text: "When thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee."

Lesson Outline: (1) Shadrack, Meshack, and Aber-nego would nt fall down and worship Cast Into the Fiery Furnace.

Facts: Because Shadrach, Meshach and Aber-nego woul dnot fall down and worship Nebuchadnezzar at the sound of the music and because they paid no attention to the image set up, the king commanded that they be casted into a fiery furnace. 

Lesson XIII.

Subject: "Daniel in the Lion's Den." (Daniel 6).

Motto Text: "The angel of Jehovah encampeth around about them that fear him. and delivereth them." (Psa. 34:7).

Lesson Outline: (1) Daniel Prays Three Times A Day. (2) Daniel's Enemies Plotting. (3) Daniel in the Den of Lions. (4) Daniel's Deliverance.

Facts: The president, princes and governors had king Darius to sign a decree that if any man should ask a petition of any God or man for thirty days he should be cast into a den of lions.
